Hi! My name is Caitlyn Powell, and I’m so happy to be sharing with you my love for music! Music has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Piano was my first love, but I also play violin, ukulele, guitar, and I sing. I’ve been teaching piano now since 2018, and it’s been amazing. I love sharing with others the gift of music, and seeing the kids’ faces light up as they play a new song. 

 

I’m very grateful to my wonderful parents, who homeschooled me and my four younger siblings. In the early years, they treated music like the fourth fundamental subject: reading, writing, math, and music. In the years of my music education, I’ve been trained to play both by ear and by sight reading. My personal favorite is learning by ear. It’s so much fun to be able to create covers of my favorite songs!
